I'm ready to let 2012 go. This is the year that I decided to end my 30 year marriage to my AH. This has been one of the most difficult decisions that I have ever had make in my life and I am trusting in my HP to show me the way. Here is one of my favorite sayings that I ran across this year:

"In order to get to the other shore, you gotta lose sight of this one."

My HP has brought me to this day, he will get me through the days to come. Thank you for letting me share. Wishing you all the best in 2013!

I love the quote and have found it to be true in my life thus far. The other shore for me has been my recovery program and listening to my voice within more and the outside pressures less. I am strong and 2013 will be awesome! Sending you much love and support!

It's scary letting go of the other shore, but you are right. We often have to feel really uncomfortable before we can move forward. Also, sometimes we lose sight of the shore and it takes some time floating around in our program to catch sight of the other shore. That can scare the heck out of me, or even sometimes last long enough to feel like I am in some kind of a slump. But those feelings usually come before a growth spurt. And then it feels good to make what seems like sudden progress.

I look forward to the new year. Let's go have another growth spurt together.

  I too have found this to be so true in my years in alanon.

  I have heard it described  as  "When One door closes, God opens another door but it is H*** in the Hallway .
