Last night we were enjoying our not good for you snacking; my daughter sampled the chocolate covered blueberry cordials - declared them oh so good and we were in the kitchen chatting and cutting and she absentmindedly reaches into a dish and pops something in her mouth - following the super sweet blueberry cordial with..... wait for it..... a kumquat! Anyone who has never had a kumquat, they are small citris fruits that are bitter and sweet and sour mixed together depending on each fruit. I apologized for laughing so hard but man was her reaction ever funny! Two things definately not to mix and I'm sure we will laugh about it for years to come - even she was laughing at her self! Cheers!

All changes, even the most longed for, have their melancholy; for what we leave behind us is a part of ourselves; we must die to one life before we can enter another! ~ Anatole France
I love those awesome moments. Makes me chuckle to imagine the look on her face.

A dinner this noon at my sister-in-law's house we called for quiet so that we could say our group prayer before the meal and my 2 granddaughters (ages 9 and 12) right away start out with the "Pledge of Allegiance" (like Aunt Bethany in the Griswald family's Lampoon Christmas Vacation.) The whole group of us ended up say the Pledge and laughing.
