A forward step

I was so afraid that Thanksgiving would be hard as it was the first holiday since I moved out.  I started out very angry, wrote a scathing email to my AH and deleted it.  After that, I felt much better and was able to sleep a restful sleep (work nights so the end of my day was the start of Thanksgiving).  When I woke I felt wonderful, went to moms with the kids for dinner and loved our evening.

When we returned to our new home, I felt a sense of peace that I have not felt in a long time.  It was like I saw the comfort of being in a safe peaceful home.  My children and I tucked in for the night with out any drama, stress or attempts to avoid making an A angry.  It was amazing.  I feel no need to talk to him or check that he made it thru a holiday alone.

The peace is such a welcome experience.  While I expect another night will be hard and that there will be down days, this one is wonderful and I am glad for it.

Thanks for sharing about your holiday.  Serenity is a wonderful thing. You deserve a happy, joyous and drama free life.  I found the sad days with "if only" feelings were much easier to deal with while living on my own than having to deal with constant insanity 24/7. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family.  We can keep taking care of ourselves and be grateful for recovery while keeping others in our thoughts and prayers.   TT
