I hope you are all well and happy today, I just wanted to let you know I finally got to my first face to face meeting and I absolutely loved it, I cant express how nervous I was on my way there, but with help from my HP I got there in one piece, lol, I met some lovely people and while the al anon meeting was taking place, up stairs in the same building an AA meeting was also taking place, (light bulb went in my head for my partner to attend while i am at al anon) and I meet the AA'ers from upstairs too and actaully went for a coffee with three of the AA people afterwards, and had such a great chat with them, they were very interested in me and my story and I too was so into what they where chatting about. I shall introduce my Abf to them next week) a real lovely morning.
During my al anon meeting I listened to shares which I found amazing, and out of the blue I got the urge to share,(really didnt think I would have the guts to speak) I put my hand up and it all just came out, and I felt such a huge sense of relief, it all came out the wrong way round as I was so nervous lol but it came out all the same, and I was'nt judged!! no one looked at me like crap,( like most of my 'friends' have) and everyone said thank you and one woman even said I was amazing and she wanted to take me home, lol, Im defo going back next sunday and going to drag my Abf with me a sling him upstairs, lol, (its ok, hes already said he would love to go)
so I thank you all for reading, I truly am a very grateful member of al anon.
There was a time when I would unload on my friends and they got 'tired of hearing my s***'. At Al-Anon, I get in trouble if I don't tell people my s*** ! People take time out of their day to come and listen to my s***.
Keep coming back

I am so glad that you found the courage to attend and raise your hand Big Kudos to you!!! You are on your way.
My Monday evening Step meeting lost our meeting place in the V A hospital due to flooding. We have been scrambling looking for an alternate space for the last two weeks. Thankfully we found a beautiful church in the neighbor willing to give us temporary space. A few of us are attempting to contact our members and Inter group so that we can have our meeting tonight as usual.
The kindness, cooperation, and team players that have organized together as a result of this storm is a true gift of the human spirit.
Awwww thank you all so much, Im still smiling from sunday :)), have already arranged my mother in law (the nice one) to come and sit the kids for next sunday, and my A and I are going together, he will go upstairs to AA and me downstairs to al anon,
I really am grateful for your replies, and thank you Betty, I hope your meetings can get back to normal asap,
thank you maryjane, very kind words xx
thank you slogan_jim, I so now what you mean lol, im with you on that one :) xx
and thank you breakingfree, love and support gratefully received. xx
I am very happy for you Maxine! I did want to say proceed with an element of caution when it comes to your A going to the AA meetings upstairs while you are at the Al-Anon downstairs. Just keep in mind this is about your recovery and your program. If he decides on his own he wants to go to the AA meeting upstairs that is HIS recovery and HIS program. If he changes his mind and doesn't go or stops going, that is his choice. What are YOU going to do. Glad things are going better for you.
