I live in downtown Manhattan on the 10 th floor and have been without Internet, electricity, heat, hot water, etc. since Monday. A very kind friend just drove to my apartment and brought me to their home where there is all the comforts of home. Internet, heat, hot water for a bath and TV. All the small things I took for granted just a few days ago Shows how important a gratitude list truly is.
Tonight I am grateful for the warm home and a warm bath and to be able to come here and share.
I"m very glad to hear you are OK and well and what a blessing the friend has been. Hope things clear up there soon, I know there is so much the storm has hit. Take care.
Glad you are finally in a safe place! My stepmom is in the New Brunswick area of NJ and she has been staying with friends. She lost phone, internet, and electricity too. I called her Tuesday and was freaking out because all the phone lines were jammed. I am from NJ originally and my grandparents lived in Brick just across the bay from Seaside Heights. I've been in tears a few times this week looking at the pictures of devastation. It's like seeing my childhood(the good beach memories) go up in flames.
It will all be rebuilt and I know that HP has a plan for everyone. I just wish I could open up my home to someone who needs a hot meal and some heat, oh and internet service, LOL. I am flying back to VA on Friday to visit my mom. They weren't hit as hard but lost power for a bit. Hurricane Sandy sure gave a punch, that's for sure!
Phew!! I was wondering if you were ok, I see on your profile where you are from, thank god you are safe and well, my prayers this morning are with everyone in the area, I'm from England and have been watching the devastation on the news channel here,
