Sorry I didn't post yesterday, but we had a death in the family and that has taken a lot of time to deal with.
Anyway...thanks to those who joined me in this quest to support each other's efforts to take care of ourselves.
Physical: I spent 10 minutes putting on makeup for the funeral, which I usally don't bother with, but I feel good wearing.
Mental/Emotional: I bought an O magazine about how to change your life and spent more than 10 minutes really reading it. I will try to find at least 10 minutes everyday to read it.
Spiritual: Rather than just reading the great shares here, I also spent 10 minutes sharing my own ESH. Giving back is what Alanon is all about, so many have spent so much time showing me the way, that I am glad to be able to share as well.
Remember, it is hard for some of us, but most of us can try to find at least 30 minutes a day for just us if we really work at it. We can divide this 30 minutes into at least ten minutes of nurturing ourselves in the three most important ways!
I am so sorry to hear of the death in your family. Reading your ESH I was reminded that even in the most difficult times in our lives it is possible and even extremely helpful to focus on our well being and take care of ourselves.
My Self Care Yesterday
Physical: Walked in the Park
Mental Continue Reading my Stephen King book
Spiritual Meeting and read my Courage to Change
Fun Went to listen to music and watched the NY Yankee game
hey thanks for the input, i will join that quest I will do all in one for the next 12 days to come, physical, mental, spiritual, fun: a long individual trek in high mountains..walking is like meditation, where i have to focus on every single step, and I follow the positive thoughts and leave the negative behind (otherwise I won't have energy to climb, lol)...and it will just be Me and the mountains...looking forward to the peace of letting go. Catch up on you all when I get back. in support
