I am so aware of how some holiday weekends are but this one took the cake! I see so much excessive drinking in my present home town that it is actually sad. Not everyone is an alcoholic but they sure try to be. In my hometown, we celebrate like none other. I am so glad that even though it is fun, I am glad it is over & that I can get back to normal life. We even had fireworks on Sunday night that were too loud & bothersome. I didn't watch them but I sure could hear the booms! Maybe I am getting old but sitting in the cold watching fireworks isn't worth it. Also, these are the huge fireworks that we have instead of 4th of JULY!
Enough out of me! I have complained enough for today. Today will be better later I guess!
We didn't have fireworks however the motorcycle clubs showed up in force...all with open altered exhaust systems and no empathy, compassion and concern for the community. I'm powerless over it and those who have the authority will do zip. Ohhhhh Wellllll. (((hugs)))
I had a very peaceful, uneventful Labor Day. My daughter came down from L.A., we went to lunch, went in the Jacuzzi, laughed and caught up, even my Mom was in a peaceful mood.
Since I'm not in the U.S. I didn't have to deal with Labor Day celebrations. But at celebrations of local holidays I always see so many people drinking, getting drunk, some to the point of being passed out in public on the sidewalk, in the road, etc. It is so sad. I wish people would use holidays as a chance to celebrate and enjoy life and not as an excuse to get wasted.
