level.
I know I have only started Al Anon for a few short days. I can already feel the effects of having somewhere to go, reading others posts, and sharing. I wake up in the morning and I don't feel so down that (my A) is not interested in getting up and breaking the new day with me. Finally I am at peace with it. I can't wait to get my hands on the book Getting Them Sober. So many positives have come out the past short days. I am slowly getting into a different routine not just for me but for my children. I am finally taking time out for myself which is much needed. Only thing I worry about is I enjoy myself too much here. Is that a bad thing?

Is there too much here?? Well, for me, the answer was definitely YES, and I had to curb my appetite a bit, and keep all things in balance.... I was so desperate to get healthy and better, I wanted the rapid-fire version of Al-Anon, and literally over-cooked myself with attempted recovery..... In the end (I was working with two small kids at home), I had to allot a certain amount of time per day, and per week - to specific recovery stuff..... My daily reader (Courage to Change) was a huge part of it, as I always read it first thing in the morning, that helped get my mind/body/spirit in shape for the day ahead....
Hope you get the GTS book soon, and there is also a ton of great online information available on Toby's website.
Take care
Tom

I had immersed myself initially on this site and in my meetings and everything Al-anon when I first started. But it helped me and I waned down after awhile and am healthier for it. I have 3 daily readers and sometimes I don't get to them all anymore every morning, but I dig in when I know I need it and back off when I feel I am overloaded. I am glad you are here and already feeling the effects of Al-anon. Keep coming back. Sending you love and support!
