The best advice I received from my friend was, "If you don't know what to do, do nothing." Just to hear it coming from someone else made so much sense.
My AH started drinking again and I was at a loss as to whether or not to stick around or send him packing. I prayed and I talked to other Al-Anon members and a few of my friends who are in AA. My AH has decided to start going to AA after a lengthy back and forth brawl and me telling him he needed to leave. This was before my decision to do nothing. I want to wait and see how dedicated he is to keeping with his program and getting himself better. He knows what the consequences are if he picks up again. This is his last opportunity and I think the realization of it really hit him hard this time.
I'm proud to say that he has begun going to meetings...at least one every day. He seems to be a different person. I'm so proud of him. Whlie I continue to go to my program and keep myself healthy, I truly believe that through myself changing he is changing too. We are going to be happy and healthy as long as AA and Al-Anon stay in our lives.
Thats Good Stuff, Prayers are a Beautiful thing, and it seems they comes when we Need them Not when we Want them! Prayers for Continued Recovery for Both :)
Yes, the power of prayer is an awesome thing. My mother always says "let go and let God". You have done what I am needing to do and my strength grows every day.
