So, here I go: It is a miracle that my AH is still married to me. Many reasons, many bad experiences to tell but I will be brief because I need to stop bringing up the past like it says in the do's & don'ts.

It has been 13 years today since I married my husband on a beautiful sunny day! We started off strong but unbeknowest to me he really had a lot of core issues but so did I! He ended up taking off just about 6 mos. after we got married. He is not only an alcoholic but has bipolar disorder & is a compulsive gambler. OUCH! I stayed w/ him after all that & the fact that he went through recovery & ended up coming back to me.

Fastforward to 2005. I ended up having a breakdown because of an unexpected death in the family, hospitalized & recovered. Fastforward to a year later, my AH went back out & ended up all over & got into a VA hospital & eventually in a State hospital--actually more than one.

This last one out, we ended up legally separated w/me living down the street for 2 years. So, now we are facing a 13 year wedding anniversary & as you can see, actually there is more to it but I won't go into as many of you have been following me for years. I have bipolar disorder but I won't let that change who I really am. I am a survivor & a happily married wife of a wonderful husband who has almost 6 years of sobriety. I would maybe change of few of these events if I could but that is not how we have to work our program. Acceptance & turning my will over to God of my understanding is where I am at today. I am working on me & am hoping for another year of wedded bliss.

Thanks to the program I am still married. I feel that our union was blesssed by God. I am happy & content & have serenity.
