my nerves

im starting to itch like crazy again now i know why -its my nerves,i had stopped itching yesterday and thought it was all from chiggers or something that maybe my dog was bringing in,but thats not it im starting to itch all over again and its just now starting since he changed his statis to being single again on facebook ,this is day 5 and no contact with him,i am so exhausted just took me my nerve medicine hopeing that will calm me down, now ive got to figure out what im gonna do for sure cause he could be hitting on someone else,or trying to get my attention ,i know i can do this and stay away from him and his type, for i know myself its really hard to be in a relationship with a a/d,and its not a bit healthy for me,i just dont know how to handle it going alone again ,i ran back to him after the 1st time i broke it off and that was because of his extreme drug and alcohol habit never a day he was straght,he done good for a while this time but then i set my bounderies with his alcoholism and he ran,i cant do it ....hugs silent

Hi Silent

It is good that you have taken care of yourself and taken your nerve meds.

A wam bath with some epson salts or vinager helps to relax me and  also helps to take care of minor skin irritations.

Remember to breathe deeply while in the tub and repeat the serenity prayer.  It works wonders.

that must be very painful.   I know that many alcoholics taunt people whent they leave them.  His status as "single" may be to see what reaction you have.  Personally I find its sometimes easier to be off facebook at times.  You can deactivate your account and then activate it again at any time.

I went back and forth with the ex A so many times.  I really don't belittle myself for that.  I didn't understand alcoholism at that time.  I was so over invested in the relationship.

Of course none of us want to be single because of alcoholism.  There are good things about being single and not so hot things about being single.  The issue for me always that I felt abandoned.

I hope you will stay close to the program and let people know you and care about you.  I know that is one way to feel a lot better.

Glad you are here.

Maresie.

Thank you for sharing silent. I can relate to the itching due to nerves and stress. I get that too. I find that some lavender essential oil either in the bath or a few drops on a tissue by the bed is very soothing. And chamomille tea. Another thing that has made a huge difference to my anxiety levels and ability to cope with stress is a mega vitamin B supplement each day...I can really notice when I don't take it now. Anyway, I think you are very courageous to go it alone and set the boundaries around self care. I admire that. Good luck and hugs. Tigger x

Hi there Silent, I have exzema and when I stress out I itch it lots. Take care of yourself and try to find a way to do something for you that takes your mind to a relaxing place, I used to watch the movie "Eat, Pray, Love" over and over again to get me through a night I was obsessing about my exAH. Repeat the serenity prayer and recite some of your favorite slogans. Keep posting here and try to avoid checking up on him if you can. I am sending you love and support!

Hi silent. I understand the itchy thing...I have allergies that sometimes cause me to sneeze or my eyes to water, other times cause terrible itching all over my body. What helps me is benadryl. If I take it at bedtime it also helps me to sleep. You're going through a difficult time but I think you're dealing with it very well. Keep on keepin' on. And keep taking care of yourself. You WILL be alright. Sending hugs and support.
