Choice & Acceptance

I  just got home from my first Al Anon Workshop. What incredible shares and speakers we had !  And isn't this always the way......one of the topics I wanted to sit in on was filled and I had to sit in on another. As always, knew the hand of my HP was at work when one of the speakers started speaking on somehing I really need to hear. Here is one of the takeaways from  this meeting delivered by  one ederly gentleman who is considered a treasure by all who have the priviledge to meet him.

Once upon a time there was a woman with beautiful long red hair. It was her crowning glory and she always received compliments on it. One day she noticed that her hair was falling out .The next day she woke to find that she only had three hairs left on her head. She thought to herself - " how shall I wear my hair today? I think I'll wear a braid". After she braided her hair, she looked into the mirror, smiled and went about her happy day. The next day, she only had two hairs on her head. She thought to herself - " how shall I wear my hair today? I think I wear it with a part in the middle ." After she parted her hair she looked into the mirror, smiled and went about her happy day. The next day, she only had one hair on her head. Again, she said to herself "How will I wear my hair today? I think I'll wear a pont tail.' Atter fixing the ponytail, she smiled at the mirror and went about her happy day.  The next day she awoke to find that she had no hair left on her head. She looked into the mirror, smiled, and said, Thank goodness I don't have to decide on how to wear my hair!!!"

This is all that we have - it's up to us to decided how we are going to live it. Thanks Bob, just what I needed to hear.

Eileen
