I am so learning to take better care of myself. Someone mention HALT! I got a little hungry, angry, and tired but not so much lonely. They were right on the button. How do we know what others need w/o totally knowing them? I guess it is a God thing or intuiton. I am so glad there are people on here who "get" it!
I am so grateful for my DAD & his legacy. I am part of an actual legacy w/o even having my own children. Sometimes I feel so sorry for myself for being child-less but I am doing OK these days. God had other plans.
By the way, my niece is living it up for her 13th birthday. I hope she enjoys every minute-I am so happy to be even a little part of her life! She is a total blessing!
HALT is one of the most useful things I learned in Al-Anon that I use in my daily life. It amazes me how I can get when I am HALTing, especially the hungry and tired parts. I laugh that it took Al-Anon for me to make the HALT connection.

My sponsor always told me if I was hungry I should call him up and he'd take me to lunch, if I was angry I should call him up and we'd talk about it, if I was lonely I should call him up and we'd go to a meeting, and if I was tired, I should stop calling and get some sleep. ;)
