it was great. I have been not making it a priority since I can come here numerous times a day and keep myself focused on my program.
I went 5 days without internet, because my provider is having issues and I was so glad I went to my home group this morning. A couple old timers told me how important it was to them when I showed up and shared. It was nice and makes me remember that it is a way I can give back. I get so focused on me, but today helped me realize we need each other. I have read this before in others posts, but today it really hit home.
I walked away laughing about our theme at the meeting of jello. We are all on the shelf in the fridge forming at different stages and if we are not ready it is like trying to nail jello to a tree. It was funny and had it's moments of seriousness. The meeting helped me be more aware of myself. I walked away wondering why I choose to let my 14 year old sleep in on Saturday mronings instead of waking her up to watch her little sister for me to get 1 hour to myself that is very refreshing for me.
I hope you all are able to have a meeting like this once in awhile that just makes you appreciate Al-anon and others working their programs along side of you! Sending you all love and support on your journey's!

Mahalo Bfree...for the ESH. I also went to my morning home group right off the oceans edge (Pacific) and was grateful for all that was and who was there. "If you keep and open mind you will find help"...that Al-Anon promise just keeps on being real for me. ((((hugs))))
(((BF))) I am so envious! I wish there were alanon meetings here for me to attend. I do the online meetings, spend time on this board, and with my literature. But it would be so nice to connect in real life with people who understand. And maybe get a hug or two at the same time. Sorry, I got all about me for a minute there. But back to you-glad you made it to your meeting and that you got so much from it.
Thanks for posting this. I really need to find and get to meetings. This was very encouraging...reminds why they are so important. And I had almost forgotten how much you can end up laughing at a meeting.
