It works if you work it...

Last night right as I was arriving home from job 2 I received a text from my MIL. She was talking about how she needed to change her views and stop being so judgemental. How she needs to change some things and basically asking that we pray for her. She sends these type texts to me, my AH and my SIL sometimes and it's usually something from Sunday School lessons or along those lines.

I texted back that I would certainly pray. My AH on the other hand texted that maybe she should go with me to my meeting tomorrow night (which is now tonight). His mom texted back that she is going through a 12 step type devotional and has he thought about going to a meeting. Which her heart is in the right place but since my AH waffles on the whole "I have a problem" this did not go over all that well with him, especially because he'd been drinking all evening. I've stated my thoughts with him and I now leave it alone.

She's not going to the meeting with me tonight, that I know of. However, obviously my meetings are having an impact if my AH is encouraging other people to attend. My prayer is that eventually he realizes that meetings could help him to but his recovery is in HP's hands. My recovery is my own and I can find contentment and serenity whether he is drinking or not as I work my program!

Thank you for letting me share!!

That is really inspiring. Thanks for sharing that wisdom here. That part that really spoke to me was when you said,

"My recovery is my own and I can find contentment and serenity whether he is drinking or not as I work my program".
