Confused

Hi! I'm new to the board using this name, I changed because I've been encouraging my sis. to use this board and I wanted to remain anonymous.  Anyway, my 2 adult children are A/As, their father was an A/A, my 2nd husband was a R/A, 21 of the 23yrs we were married, he passed in 06.  I've been dating a man who love to drink beer, he keeps it under control, maybe a six pack during the week-end while working in the yard or watching football, he also has a canibus card and use marj. for siacitic nerve/back pain.  I've been seeing him for 10 months, I'm concerned and confused about my A/A's kids/grandkids seeing/knowing he does marj. and I'm hating to have to hide it from them.  We are both retired, he own his own home, has a car and a truck, I don't see where it interferes with his functioning.  My kids esp. my daughter has serious issues with her addictions.  Any esp would help..

I'm sorry to hear you've been dealing with so much addiction.  Have you found some face-to-face meetings?  We all get sucked into the insanity of addiction when we're around it, no matter how careful we are.  It's like a vortex.  If your bf doesn't want to downplay his medical marijuana around the kids, that would be a concern for me too.  With so much addiction in the family history, they would be at risk, and the more "normal" alcohol and drugs seem to them, the more risk.  This would be something for prolonged thought.  A regular meeting and a sponsor might help you think through these issues.  Also reading all the threads on these boards is helpful.  Since you suggest that you've been here before under another name (? if I understand correctly), maybe you've been doing that already.  I hope you can get all the support you deserve.  These are tough issues.
