I have a tree

I have a mulberry tree in my backyard. It grows fast and when it does it is over my neighbours fence a fair way.

At times I love the tree.. the food and shelter and protection it can give the birds. It brings the birds around my home and it provides for them in a natural way.

At times I have cut the tree back, when I am trying to think for my neighbours. Believing it might bother them, but they have never asked me to do anything about it.

At times I have seen my neighbours cut it back themselves...and I have instantly felt guilty about the tree being in their yard.

Today i love the tree and am proud of the tree. I believe the tree has a right to be there. I trust that if my neighbours want to cut it back on their side, they will. And if they would like anything more done about it ... we will talk about it. It is a fine tree in an awkward place. And I believe it is beautiful.

Your post reminds me of the saying: You can see the glass half full or half empty

It's our choice how we want to frame an experience or situation. Many of us don't realize that until we at least begin recovery.

Thanks for sharing!

Thank you for being at this alanon family group before me. The sharing I find from members is helping me so much - a 34yr mum of 3 and ex of an active A.
I am thankful to have this sanctuary to come to when the world becomes confusing to me. This place is a god sent and so are the posts I have read. I see myself and learn how to navigate life in a simpler way. Sending you kindness and gratitude *:)
