Hygene

Hi,

I was wondering if anyoneelse has troubles with their spouse not showering.  Needless to say on those nights nothing romantic happens.  It's not all the time just now and then.  Sometimes I get him out of bed to have one as I don't want him smelling all night long.  Is this poking my nose in where it doesn't belong?

Kind Regards,

Tracey

Its hard to ignore your nose...lol Over the years, my AH would get depressed and spend a few days in bed without showering. I really don't know how often he showers now because I moved to the opposite end of the house. I do remember spending many years febreezing the bed and washing the sheets after he'd be drinking and go to bed....That awful alcohol smell....And it was different when I had to sleep in the same room.....My complaining did absolutely nothing to stop him from doing it. When I got married, it never crossed my mind that someone elses hygiene would ever be something I would be discussing on a message board.....UGH

Oh yeah, when he's drinking every day one of the first things to go is hygiene. One of the reasons we now have separate bedrooms.

Yes, I have that problem when he is drinking.  We have mutually agreed on a boundary though.  If he chooses the behavior, then he should sleep in a guest bedroom so that I can get my sleep.

Since then I have had no problems.

seems like seperate rooms is a good idea- either that or just come straight out with it and insist on him having a shower.

I dont think its poking your nose where it doesn't belong.
It certainly belongs in this issue.
Especially with the summer heat in your area showering is a good thing to encourage.

Do you have a swimming pool? I sometimes jump in the spa or pool if I have already showered and I know I am just sweating from the weather or soemthing.

The smell of alcohol in his pores is a bad one.

For me this would be a boundry standard.

People who do dirty type jobs .....ie like work in a piggery will have a shower and the skin and hair can still smell then one can say they have done their best.

But the stink of an unwashed body, when the one responsible for his or her hygene is not taking that responsibility is an absolute turnoff.

,Definately, as well  it would have been no morning sex for me!

Even if they had a shower, brushed their teeth, and gargled with mouthwash the smell of alcohol and smoke is still overwhelming.  I find it takes about 24-36 hours for the toxins to burn off.
