My first meeting without RLC

Hey guys. I had my first meeting without RLC Tuesday night. Our topic was feelings. We keep his chair empty with his books there for any newcomers. It was one of the hardest things I think I ever faced. I did not have to face it alone. I had the support of our group there and all the kind words that came from MIP. I am still left with a feeling of emptiness and loniness but I am taking it One Day at a Time. I miss him everyday. He lives in our hearts with his words and ES&H!!!!

I was just reminicing about RLC in an email to another member.   I had just finished saying RLC had a heart as big as the state of Texas.  Then I come to the board and see your note.  His memory is alive and well on MIP.

I would love to have had the opportunity to sit in a meeting with him.  He was a very kind man indeed.

xoxo,

Tommye

Melissa, you have been in my thoughts this past week. That meeting last night had to be tough. I miss RLC too, every day. He touched so many people's lives in a positive way. But it's true that he lives on in our hearts. I will honor his memory by showing the same friendship, and kindness to others that he showed to me.

I always looked for anything he wrote or responded to with him having so many great things to say. I miss seeing his responses to us all! I feel for you and couldn't imagine if he was in one of my meetings how you must be feeling the loss. I think you have been blessed to have known him in person! Sending you love and support!

I can't believe how hard this has been for me, and I never even met him. I can only imagine how hard this is for you. Hang in there, and thanks for sharing your experience. I hope his wife and family are holding up ok.

RLC and I talked often, and while it does little to relieve the feelings of loss at this time, I am willing to bet, that if there are Al-Anon meetings in Heaven, RLC is chairing them! Handing newcomers pamplet's and kleenex, handing someone in need a cup of coffee...

And one day we will all be sitting with him in a meeting again... He'll keep the door open for us.  smile

John...

See post.. "A PM from RLC"
