I just wanted to say hi and post an update...I have been here reading but not responding. I wanted to just listen for awhile. :) Life has been amazing though and I can't complain, not anymore :) I have found that putting negative thoughts out of my mind, by saying to the thoughts "you are not welcome in this place" has helped me move forward in my work on me. I feel great, and things are going very well in my house, and my world. My loved one is sober! Its a miracle every day. His sobriety began right around the time that I made the decision to surrender totally to the first three steps and I got off his back and really felt my own stuff. It really does work!
The past is just that now for me, the past. I can look back without it hurting like it used to... Things are moving forward in my life and I am happier now than I have ever been, because I released myself into accpetance. I accept me for who I am, and I know now that God doesn't make crap.
I am so grateful for this board and alanon for helping me get to where I am right now, remaining teachable and open minded to change. I have found God again in my life, and found a peace and serenity I didn't know exsisted before now... I will still be around, but I am trying to do more listening, and help out where I feel led to... HUGS to all and thanks for allowing me to be here with you :) I am a grateful member of alanon...

I know you just want to listen and read for a while.. but posts like this truly inspire me to continue on my journey with my HP to find my health and happiness through applying Al-Anon daily. If you feel an urge to post, please post.. for nothing else but to give others some inspiration and hope. Thank you.

youfoundme, I'm happy to hear that things are going so well for you. Keep listening, but please keep sharing too. As michelle and lady said, posts like this are an inspiration to many of us.

It is so amazing how your life has changed in what six months since you have been here. You demonstrate when one person works on themselves, then our whole world can change for the better.
I am just so darned proud of you. I think your share is a powerful example of the Alanon promise "It works IF you work it" and you do!
