How Do You Live With This

My AH smells so bad from his drinking I can't stand it any more. I work at a hospital and can take them smells but at home it seems to effect me more.  He smokes outside but that bugs me too. The kids are older and out of school now but when they were in school they would want me to go with them coz dad smells they notice too. Feet go along with all that.

Its just like when we get one of those guys off the street at the hospital.   He goes to work every day makes good money.

Pays the bills can't believe they don't say any thing. Is it just me smelling

the odor from the drinking ? Do You Guys smell it too ? I know it a weird question.

I could smell it especially after he passed out in the bedroom and when I would go into the room from after he was asleep awhile, it would hit me like a wall. But once he showered and cleaned up on his way to work I wouldn't smell it and I would air out our bedroom. Hope this helps. I am sending you love and support on your journey!

It's not a weird question at all. I can smell it now, and I never really used to notice before. In regards to the whiskey, the other I can ALWAYS smell and know.

We keep candles, and when I lived on my own I liked the plug in smell goods, maybe these would help a little?

Hugs to you!

At my very first Al-Anon meeting, I mentioned the alcoholic smell and everyone in the room nodded and knew exactly what I was talking about. It was how I knew I was in the right place. I had never told anyone about the smell and now I found a room full of people who smelled it too.

I smell it on AH's skin, in his clothes, on his breath. It's a smell no amount of mouthwash or room deodorizer can cover. I don't even know how to describe the odor. I do know that it is one that almost everyone who loves an alcoholic knows well.

How odd, but this is hitting a nerve with me. I remember my dad smelling kind of like coffee in the morning, but before he had even had coffee. And sometimes I can't even take the smell of my husbands pillow. So, yeah. It's all those toxins being expelled through the pores I guess.

THANKS Everyone its a question I was going to ask for a long time.
I spray frebreez all over our room and it works.
But like someone said I remember the smell with my dad too.
