OT - Weird, wonderful and sad ..

Ok .. you guys .. LOL .. I don't know what God is trying to tell me, however I just have had the oddest morning.

I have shared that mama had her kittens in the back of the truck .. lol .. poor truck.  Well, we had talked about moving them all inside or something the weather is horribly cold as in not normal for this time of the year.  She had moved them before we were able and I couldn't find them .. turns out she moved them Last night was the first frost, the days have been just as bitter.  We haven't seen the kittens since they were born.

I'm outside watering the first commitee as I call them .. lol.  Mama comes up with one kitten and drops it literally at my feet .. it's still alive, however I am honored and blown away that she would do that .. the kittens are only 2 weeks old if that.  I have to go back and look at my pictures to see exactly what date they were born.  I'm completely blown away and in shock that she would honor me in that way, I know she's asking for my help.  So I finally was able to find a small box, lined it with some towels and thought the rest of the kittens were dead.  Thankfully the sun is shining and it's a lovely day.

My AH asked I move them all inside not the 1st committee however this new batch because they arne't going to make it right the way things are.  They were straight up in the open.  So we're going to have to figure something else out for them.  My AH has committed to dealing with the situation when he gets home.  I have moved our older cats to our room for short term.

Anyway, one little kitten has died I left it in the box since mama brought it with her .. I just kind of figured until I can find out what to do and where to dispose it.  It won't hurt anything right now.

Hugs and any advice or suggestions as to what to do with the dead one would be appreciated how to remove it and where to dispose it.

P :)

Awww... What a nice kittie, they know where to go :) I would say to just take it out with gloves on and wrap it up and maybe bury it before the ground freezes too much. The mama cat won't care now that its passed on. She will be busy with the others. Maybe you will turn into a cat rescue house! LOL... JK! Anyway, wish I could take one from ya, like I said in the text. They are adorable :)

I am to young to be the cat lady that role is reserved for my mother!! LOL!! They are so sweet. They are in the house and mama is taking good care of them although her and I had a little disagreement. LOL! She decided she was going to "hide" them in the house and I was like ohhhhh nooooo .. LOL!! We did a few rounds of .. box for kittens .. they stay there. So all of the other doors to bedrooms, closets and anything else where she could hide them have been shut. She's smart too .. she watched me watch her and literally did one of those .. I meant to do that things takes one lays down in the front room and let's it nurse just long enough so I looked away .. LOL. Away she went .. LOL .. I stopped her again and moved the kitten back to the box. I really can't get over how much she trusts me because she did not have to allow me near them and she does without fuss or muss. She has resigned to the fact the crazy cat lady is not going to let her hide the kittens .. LOL. I'm hoping when we make her box outside in the shed she will stay there.

I have to vacuum I'm sure that will not be pretty .. lol. Oh well we are a noisy house wait until the kids get home they will be beside themselves.

My AH is taking care of the dead one, sorry I realize I sound morbid and I'm not meaning to it's just a life thing to me. My honey can go deal with that since it was his idea to bring them in .. LOL. Now I'm waiting for crazy people next door to pay a visit. They want the kittens however don't want to deal with any of the responsibility for them. The fact that mama brought them to me specifically I'm going to be pointing that one out .. she had a choice and she choose me. Get over it or here's the bill for the food 4 cats have been eating since June. There is a lesson here and I will take it one day at a time.

Hugs P :)

Let's see if I do this right .. I'm posting pics of the first comittee and now a new one .. oi .. something has to give and I think my AH wants one .. LOL .. ohhh boy.

The all gray ones are the first litter and the pictures are a month apart they are HUGE now!!  I mean really solid tom cats.

The little ones are soooo sweet.  They have some of the markings of their dad who was a tiger stripe with solid white .. THAT was the cat I was spraying with the hose while they were mating I had hoped I got there in time.  Good luck with that .. LOL!!

The picture in the truck bed it is hard to see however they had JUST been born.  They are in there if you look close.

Most mom cats will just pull it aside. I would just bury it. I always line the grave with grass and leaves, put in mint or some nice smelling plant, put leaves andflowers over it,then cover it.

I always had old net playpens for my mom rescues. Litter box and everything in there.  Then put a lid made of chicken wire and wood on top with a space for her to go in and out. Always in a shed or barn, enclosed in. I didn't want to chance losing mom and having to bottle feed.

Make sure there are no fleas on them or they will get very anemic and die.

HEY!!! I have been doing cat rescue literally since I could walk well! lol old lady stuff bolony! hahahaha!

You can always pick a closet and let her have it for awhile too.

thank you for caring. And NO way would I let anyone take them who does not want to be

responsible> I don't care how much money they offer. They like them till its time to neuter and spay them. then there ya go, they will come to you to have more. Tell them they are spoken for. Which is true as you can send them all to me! (c: hugs

Search low cost spay neuter programs in your state. usually humane societies give a voucher where you just pay 20 bucks. Also there are usually free feral cat help to get them altered.

they are beautiful!

Hugs Deb,

Thank you!!

I'm concerned about my two old ladies, so this is a very very temp thing until my AH gets home. I can't have 3 grown cats in the house with 3 kittens .. LOL .. it's to small of a place for that plus 2 adults and 2 kids .. LOL. I will admit my kids are going to be soooo excited about the kittens I have enjoyed the fact they have gotten to see them just born and they have also gotten to see them now before their little eyes open. They are only 9 days old.

I'm hoping the cold took care of some of the fleas and when we move them back outside which will be to a barn they won't get them. Somehow the other kittens avoided the fleas I think it's because of where they were up and inside the shed. That was the middle of summer!?

ALL of these cats will be spayed/neutered and whatever else at 12 weeks. That poor mama isn't even 2 years old and has had 2 litters, and could possibly have another one in the middle of winter .. poor baby. She's soooo sweet!!

Anyway, I appreciate the response and was hoping you would be on here sometime today!!

Hugs P :)

In reading this I realize I have saved so many animals in my 33 years of life and it just struck me, since I can't save people even though I have tried, I too have turned it towards animals. Just a funny thought after reading this. I am glad they have you and it sounds like you will be more than responsible with them. I too have given up a closet to a Momma cat until the kittens decided they were too mobile to stay there any longer. Nice share!!! Thanks for the pictures.

Pink .. LOL .. that really made me laugh so hard I started snorting .. oi! They are all such little sweeties all 7 of them. If they weren't it would be easy to say whatever, they are not feral in the true sense of the word. They are outside kitties. I'd love to take them all in. Flop, .. I'm telling you the rescue gene runs deep when it runs .. lol. I remember yelling at my mom when I was 11 to stop the car on the 15 N in San Diego. I spotted a frigging St Bernard .. oi .. what I was thinking .. I wasn't .. I literally jumped out of the car yelled at the dog and the dang dog jumped in the backseat. My mom just looked at me and said Why did I stop? LOL? We found that bugger a home too nothing like having a dog who's head was level with the kitchen counters .. it made for a couple interesting weeks.

My AH came home and put an old coat in the box with them and they are outside in a sheltered area. I love the fact I checked on them today and the mama came running when she saw I was peeking. She's such a good mama. There was discussion of them in the house and it came down to room, cat boxes and two little old ladies who take priority and they are already so not happy. I'm checking for retaliation at the moment. I'm going to take the boys and get them clipped first and then we can worry about the kittens when they are of age. I'd love to find homes for them as well, I'm hoping something will work out.

Hugs P :)

They look like russian blues. That is a special breed and their coats are all lush and fluffy.

Of course they might just be generic cute grey tabbies.

Pink, I think they are just solid gray kitties?? Mama has green eyes and the first litter had gold eyes. One is what I would call fluffy. The other two are huge solid tom kitties.
