Huge lesson in reality!!

I am not sure I shared but one night a week or so ago I heard the door handle being tried. My dogs went nuts in a way that I was  sure there was someone out there.

Since I am up here alone, thinking about what would you do if...comes up a lot in my mind. I have a 9 mil next to my bed, a flashlight and sell and always slippers I can go outside in.

I sat there reading was about 2 am. My thought was, I am locked up, no one I know would do this. If I go to the door, that would only bring bad.

So I put the gun and my Bible in my bed. Surprisingly calm. Reading Dean Koontz of all things. Read enough Ann Rule to know what can happen if you are not aware.

After the dogs went nuts that was that.

Then today I find out they found the vehicle that these horrible murderers over here left not far from my place. !!! and )c:!!  I am willing to bet they were up here with these meth people right across the river and down some. they are both meth addicts.

They were also seen in the Safeway and this discount store across from it too. AND the guy was asking people for money. I was told ex cons come up here but....now I know.

Accept what I could not change, was there was someone at my door that was not suppose to be. Change what I can, think about it. Do not go to the door, dogs may scare them off. Do not ask for trouble. Then I thought ok if they come in, NO ONE is going to hurt my dogs. I planned to lay cutting my reading light, and laying on the floor by my bed and shoot them around the corner. That would be that. yikes. this is one thing I never thought about Al anon helping me. made me learn how to stop and think before I do anything.

The timing and placing are perfect. Its funny as the whole mess really affected me when my friend in Canada sent me the news of a nice kid missing not far from here. It really got me. I followed the news and kept crying and telling Cody I am so sorry. name of the 19 year old kid.

Al Anon helped me even more not to panic, not to react. Taught me to think first. Look at options.

MIP could easily have saved my life. And my precious dogs who surely could have been hurt or worse.

Just found all this out today. My head is still spinning. time for electric wire on my fence, besides the locks!

Love,deb

Wow, you keep amazing me! A bible and a gun, my kind of woman. I live out in the woods and have neighbors I can see through the woods on 1 side and I get scared from time to time. For some reason it's harder when my kids aren't with me, but to actually hear someone try the door handle in the middle of the night, thank God for your dogs. That is 1 reason I have a german shephard. Way to work your program all I have is a tazer and a leather club by my bed, you are impressive in so many ways!!!

Wow, that is scary, and I am impressed with your thinking!

I like what you said about not reacting. That said, I like how you think - gun and bible. No, you will not be messed with!

Big pat to the dogs!! They are great aren't they?! I'm glad you and they are safe.

Deb: Glad to know you are well! Wow! That was too close for comfort. It is too scary to even imagine what you experienced. Yet, you are prepared. I chuckled about the gun and bible. That's my girl! You won't have it any other way. Just happy that you and your animals were not harmed.

Thank God!

Oh my!  So glad you are safe.  How scary!  I read about those murderers.  It's clear you did everything right and here's one time it really made a difference.  In addition to having a plan about what you'd do, you also made sure your door was locked before you even went to bed.  That's a boundary not everyone takes care of.  Al-Anon teaches us about boundaries and plans and you had both.  And thank goodness for your precious dogs too!

Deb, Kinda reminds me of a yard sign I received in an email recently that simple said.........

"There's nothing in my house worth dying for.!!

Point well taken. I'm glad you are safe.

HUGS,

thank u all.

YES it was a bit unnerving. BUT was more scarey when I learned they dumped the first stole vehicle up here, and were shopping fifteen min from my house,AND I told you i am up here right across the river from a huge group of meth people. I am sure these two meth addict murderers were right up here and thought my cabin was a vacation one. You cannot see my car in the dark.

OR they wanted my car, but when they could not find the key to the gate, they came to the door to murder whoever again, get the key to gate, and steal my car. ugh

mac said I needed a motion detector light. I say bear traps. not really. I would probably step in one setting them up. lol

I am feeling really uneasy. do I want to stay up here? Not a lot of choices really.burst my bubble.

thank goodness I have these noisy dogs. this world is a mess.

wish I could move in with mac. sigh

love,deb

RLC you are so right, its my dogs ya better not touch.

It just makes me sick to think that young 19 year old young man, lost his life for a freaking hunk of metal. They could have just kicked him out of the car and left him.

I hate to say this, but this really tore me up before I found out there were up here. I kept saying Cody I am so sorry. Just makes me sick to think about how scared he had to be.

Have to keep telling myself its over now. but still. shaking head. love, deb

ps even if i had a trillion stupid dollars ,paper,or a hummer or whatever its not worth anyones  life.
Would not want to be them on judgement day.....Nothing we could do could be more horrible than what they will experience.
