New Group Meeting

Hi,

After joining al-anon 2yrs ago, I finally feel ready to open a new meeting in the area I live.  We live ruraly out here in Australia, on the outskirts of a little place.  There's a hall here that is rarely used, so I've spoke to the people about using it.  They seem very happy to have the group started up.  At the moment we travel 30mins to al-anon once a week and around 1 hour to al-ateen.  It'll be nice to have something a couple of mins down the road.  I hope I'm up to taking this on.  It feels like I'm being prompted to do it.

Regards,

Tracey

Hugs Tracey,

Good luck I'd love to hear how it works out I'm thinking about starting a study group on a couple of the books we have and don't use. I would love to hear how it goes and what you have to do!!

Hugs P :)

Good for you for starting a new group.  I wish you the best in starting a new meeting.  Have you come up with your group name yet?

best,

t

Great Recovery Tracey

If you fel prompted to form this new meeting , then learning to trust that "still small voice within" is a very big alanon tool

Best of Luck  I am sur the meeting will succeed.

Thank you for your replies.

I didn't know I had to have a name for it.  To me it would be an al-anon meeting where everyone would be welcome, adults and children.  We seem to have quite a few people out here who either have licences but don't venture to far or they don't have any.  The children rarely go anywhere except to school on the bus.  I'ld like to make it available to them as well.

I've sent a letter away to our headquaters so we'll see what happens next.

Tracey
