Hello, I am new here...I have a husband who is an alcoholic. We have 3 children. We have been married for 15 years this Nov 23. I just need a place to go and vent some feelings and frustrations I have with all my feelings. I have never attended a face to face meeting yet, but I do believe that is my next step. I just don't know where to go with my anger and hurt and frustrations anymore.
(c: Welcome! Well you found us now!! So you go ahead and vent. Believe me we all relate. This place is very safe.
You may want to check out the frequently asked questions. Sometimes young kids come here too, and some of us have been so verbally abused by profanity that we ask it not be used. However believe me we sure relate to wanting to! lol
Yes F2F are great for us. Also is reading literature.
So please feel at home, share anytime as much as you want.
love,debilyn

Welcome and you are so in the right place. Going to a meeting is literally the beginning of a very great journey. Usually we have all come to alanon with having no where else to go. Someone shared at the meeting tonight that sometimes people come to alanon because they choose alanon and sometimes alanon chooses them. I really love that because it is totally true.
Please keep coming back here and I hope you will go to your first face to face meeting. You are not alone. I have 2 kids myself and have been married for 11 years. He's a great guy who happens to be an dry alcoholic (no program). Some days are easier than others, through alanon I have found hope and the beginnings of recovery for myself.
Hugs P :)

Welcome , the hardest part for me in early recovery was to accept that his drinking was not about me , nothing I do will cause anyone to drink or to stop we simply arent that powerful . Please find a meeting for yourself you need support from people who understand where your at. This is just too damn hard to do alone. Louise
Hi and welcome. I think you are in the right place. I came here too when I was frustrated, isolated and alone from the disease of alcoholism with a spouse actively drinking. This place is a fantastic way to take the pressure off, to express the anger and frustration that is eating at ones soul.
In Alanon, there is no situation too difficult to be bettered and no unhappiness to great to be lessened. Face to face meetings for me were key to begin to understand the disease of alcoholism yet get tools for which I could learn how to cope with those persons in my life who actively drink, mainly my husband. We are celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary next week. I love him very much. He is a wonderful man who has a disease who is completely powerless over alcohol. I am forever grateful to him because I have found peace, hope, joy, patience, love, and understanding through working the steps with a sponsor in the face to face rooms of Alanon.
Pease stick around awhile and get to know us better. It would be my pleasure to get to know you as well. Keep Coming Back!
