And just like that...

...out of the blue, he's sort of back to himself. He took his nap, woke up a couple of hours later, sobered up and actually ate dinner for the first time in over a week. I'm not even going to think about tomorrow, I'm just happy about today!

Well, this morning he went into serious detox and needed to go to the ER. This is the fifth ER trip in less than a year but this is the first ER trip in which he was completely sober and it was his choice, not me dialing 911. I'm glad for whatever progress God give him and glad for the peace I have in knowing that I am taking care of myself as best as I can so that he can focus on his disease and not on how it is affecting me. The pressure that folks with Alcoholism must face being berated for their crappy behavior every day must be intense. Hopefully me taking responsibility for myself will provide him with more awareness and energy to care better for himself as well!
