kitty is still on the mend!

my kitty is doing so much better every day! she is responding to my husband--she still won't let me pet her but I am giving it some time!

To all you cat lover's out there: keep loving them & giving them attention; like my hubby says they will love you back! He sure loves this cat & if anything happens to her; he will be sad but no cats in the house unless he takes care of it! That is all I have to say about that!

I am doing much better myself every day! Got a pretty good night's sleep. I am going to a meeting out of town tonight as I do every 2nd Tuesday of the month. I am anxious a bit but know that they all love me the way I am. I am accepted & treated like everyone else even though sometimes I still feel like an outsider! That seems ridiculous to me because I am a member of Alanon & always will be!

Take cause I care!

Kathleen

Dear Hoot, here is a tip about cats--I learned it fro a cat behavioralist.  Do not approach them in an agressive manner (ie: overly friendly).  Don't even look straight at them when first meeting.  Leave them alone, and they will eventuall come to you.  You cannot manipulate or influence a cat from your needs.  They respond to you to the extent that you can meet their needs---on their terms.

I am a big cat lover.  Cats can teach us the tough lesson of live and let live.

All the best to you, Hoot

I love this thread.   I have a shy kitty and am always wondering about cat behavior.  Like why does my shy kitty only like my 15 year old son, even though I am the one who feeds her?  Yes, they do teach us not to smother them with love.  They come to us when they are interested in affection, not the other way around.
