Safety Guidelines in Alanon meeting

I am new here, so I hope I am posting this in the correct place.

I am going to be as brief as I can, to protect anonymity.

I want to know if there are any safety guidelines for alanon groups.  I suspect there might be a sexual predator coming to our meetings.

Hi Sally

The alanon 12 Traditions were set up as guidelines for the operations of an alanon group. Business Meetings are held at the request of any member or monthly depending on the group, to discuss issues that need to be addressed by the members.

The First tradition stresses that "Our Common Welfare Should Come First, Personal Progress for the Greatest Number Depends on Unity. If you feel the Unity of the group is being abused I suggest you ask for a business meeting to discuss the subject.

Good Luck

.

I am aware that there are safety guidelines for our alateen meetings with background checks for alateen sponsors.  In our traditions it states that Alanon welcomes and gives comfort to families of alcoholics, and the only requirement for membership is that there be a problem of alcoholism in a relative or friend.  So, everyone is welcome under that umbrella.

I think it is a good idea to bring up the topic at the business meeting and have a vote on it.

Best, Tommye

What struck me first is your need to proctect your anominity here ( which is fine we are all about anominity )
So my question is do you attend our meetings here online or are you talking of your face to face meetings.
If you are talking about our online meetings and you believe a predator to be present, if they are private messaging you etc copy and paste those messages and get them to a room OP. Everytime ok. It will then be brought up in business meeting or if this person has had other complaints may be taken straight to John for a decision.
If it is in you f2f do put it on the agenda for the monthly business meeting.
Alanon should be a totally safe place for you and all precautions are taken to keep you safe. We can't fix what we don't know about so please bring this up with the leader at your f2f or any OP here in the meeting ok
Blessings
