Hello to all: Hope you all are enjoying the holiday. Just wanted to share about this wonderful experience at the yearly Round Up ConventionI attended this weekend. They had wonderful speakers (AA/Alanon).The opening ceremony was just amazing. The speaker was a 22 yr. alcoholic survivor. His story was heartfelt, to say the least. The Alanon luncheon had a dynamic speaker as well. These speachees were available at the convention on CD. Great testimonies. Then the back to back meetings around the clock were just what I needed. I am not sure if any of you attended. As usual, the whole entire convention was fantastic. Have a great day and God bless you.
Oh you are so lucky!! I keep kicking around the idea of going to the convention up in our neck of the woods. I was fortunate enough to hear Kathy H speak this summer she's awesome I don't know if anyone has heard her cd's (I'm sure I'm not the only one). Love her!! Glad you had a good time and and a safe trip!!

That is a good convention. I have never been, but have listened to the speakers from that convention on CD. My favorite from the roundup lineup is Sandy B. He gives a good talk. I am so glad you had a good time.
I am counting the days myself because I am able to escape the Texas heat and head to the Colorado mountains for a five day AA/Alanon conference at the end of July. Just the thought of having a room all to myself is intoxicating.
@Betterfuture: Not to worry! This is a yearly convention and it is usually around July 4th. Few years ago they had on Memorial Day weekend. However, July is the designated month. You'll have lots of fun and get plenty recovery by listening to the speakers.
@Pushka: There are CDs available for all the speakers. You can call (888) 202-2245. The website is www.mdtapes.com. I have a large collection because I attend every year. These are longtimers with a lot of recovery. It is an investment that I don't mind paying for.
Tommy: Oh, you are going to enjoy it! Aside from the meetings and speakers, there is live music and dancing. There are many activities for people to enjoy themselves: Las Vegas Night, dancing, longtimers tea for AA and Alanon (separately), and so much more. Have fun! I know you will come back refreshed.
