"Sha-na-na" says:

My sons are not allowed to come over to the house for any reason whatsoever if they have been drinking in the past 48hrs. (no hangover, or bad attitudes, irritability, etc...).

Now, at the door, I warn them:  "If you be sippin......I be trippin!".

They seem to get the idea better with the humor than the lecture-type warning.  The are less defensive.  This is part of my program for establishing firm boundries about tolerating drinking behaviors no more.  I am thinking of making a poster (I'm not kidding)

Just thoiught I would post this helpful hint from Otie's tool bag.

Love, Otiebiggrin

Otie, sounds like a great idea. Glad to know it is working for you. My boundaries --I have an extra bedroom and that is where I moved to. It is peaceful, quiet, and it is my palace. My AH has his own palace where he does everything under the sun. I mind my own business and stay in my own space. That is what works for me. Thanks for sharing.

Hugs to you.

TTToooooo perfect dahling!! I am so happy for you! I am tellen ya in time it will just come natural to be up aboutng  things. Teasing but meaning it works.

they know you love them, but they know you stick to the rules.

When AH would not say much, even when on program, I would grab his lips softly and make them pretend to say, "OH baby you are so good to me, I love how soft your  hair is."

Or its so good to come home to a nice clean house... well you get it. He would always smile and look real dreamy at me. lol He knew how he felt but rarely could put it to words.

Glad you are enjoying those turkeys even when they blow it! hugs,d eb

Oh Deb, it is so clear how much love you and your husband had in the good times.

I so get that--given that I am going through the greif of the passing of my own sweet one.

Thanks, Deb,

Love, Otiesmile
