It seems to me Portland is a reverse-Cincinnati, if you will. The things I hated about Cincinnati are all far better here, so i'm stayin. I was so disgusted with some of the things I saw in mixed-gender meetings I wanted to quit...then it dawned on me. I need to go to the men's meeting, stay there and not even bother with any others. It just isn't worth the hassle.
The rainy season has started so I really have to watch my moods. Wallkin in all that heavy rain oddly enough made me feel better even if I got soaked to the skin. Drivin back to my spot last night was really scary. The first rain after a drought means wet, slippery roads and dangerous driving conditions. There were lots of pileups, none near me.
This weekend there's an apple festival in town, so I'm goin. I plan to eat enough of them so the doctor won't even want to come near me!
I think of you many times, and hope you find some stability. Winter is coming, hope you get somewhere to live soon......
Lots of love, hope to see you in chat room later,
Flora xxxx
PS Just share a tiny thought, something I heard last year, when I had a PI counter at a mental health week: big shot psychiatrist said, to have good mental health involves 3 factors, 1) somewhere safe to live, 2) meaningful things to do during daytime (not necessarily paid work), 3), someone, not a care worker, or professional, who loves you. Think you doing quite good on 2), A plus student on 3), just need to work on 1)!!!!!! (Progress Not Perfection, for all of us)
Glad you didn't stay down in the dumps too long, proud of you! I'd tell you to keep your head up, but you might drown out there! LOL So keep your head down and your mind up! You are a survivor, don't forget that!
Love and hugs,
Josey
