I did something for ME last night

Last night I went to a rubber stamping party. I can't tell you how good it felt. I really was hesitant about going because Tues. especially are one of the A's drinking nights. He of course stopped at the bar after work and he knew I was going to this and that I had to leave early. So I just starting dinner - grilling out and he actually was home before I was done - and he wasn't "drunk" like he usually gets. We ate, I kissed him goodbye and went. I had such a great time - it felt so "normal". It was so nice not to feel like I was trapped at home and that I could go out and do something that I was interested in.

Thanks - I never would have done this without the courage I get from reading all your posts.

I'm so happy for you. Keep going when ever you get the chance. I have to ask one question. What is a rubber stamping party?

Keep up the good work NIKKILOU

It's a home party type thing - sort of like Pampered Chef or Tupperware only they sell rubber stamps to make greeting cards and stuff. It's a lot of fun.

What a great post of "loving detachment", even if it feels like baby steps.....  Way to go!!

Yippeee!

You keep it up! There is something about doing some crafty or with your hands that is very satisfying.
I'm trying to get up the courage to take a very beginner's course in painting. I love to cross-stitch but it's getting tough on the eyes. Forget the bifocals - not until I'm 90.

It does feel good to do something just for you. I try and take 1 day a week where I do what I want. Now I don't have kids and my A is living in a halfway house, so my schedule is a little more flexible. But it's about being good to me. I call them "Sammy Days" after my cat. On the days I'm off she's goes outside and can come and go as she pleases. Well so can I. Although I won't go chaising mice!

It's about being good to you. Even if it's not a full day, a few hours can make all the difference in the world. It's how we regain our strength.

I'm very proud of you.

Live strong,
Karilynn
