stay in the day

Happy Valentine's Day all - thank you for being here!  I've been checking in every day and it is helping to keep me sane aww

My valentine wrote in his card that he would "try my best to not let you and the kids down".  Made me sad.  He is trying to moderate his drinking and I feel like I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop.

I haven't been able to get to a meeting since the first one over a week ago and I KNOW I need to go - I need some support behind me from people who understand.

One of my children is very anxious and clingy this week.  I have arranged to have him see a therapist as he also has horrible temper outbursts.  I told her that he is the "thermometer for the family" - he personifies the turmoil.  I am holding him extra close and praying for peace for him.

"Stay in the day" and "K.I.S.S. - keep it simple stupid" are two things my mother used to say - she's gone now but my father was an recovering alcoholic and I wonder if these are program slogans?  Anyway - these thoughts are on my mind as I try to keep it simple and not get ahead of myself.  All in God's time.

Peace,
Kelly

Hi Kelly

Thanks for checkong in   I am glad that you are taking positive actions and do se that your partner is truly ill.

I like your slogans!!!  I have changed the last S from stupid to sweetheart because I was always soready to beat myself up and my sponsor reminded me that al anon asks us to be gentle with ourselves.

So I remind myself to Kiss :"Keep it simple sweetheart"

Thanks for being here.
