I heard in one meeting that AA's who are also members of alanon are NOT allowed to hold positions of service such as GR or SR...
Are they allowed to hold in group positions such as treasurer, secretary etc?
Is the tenets of alanon on line somewhere? I know my groups have the book, but I won't see it till tomorrow night and I was just wanting to see what is said....
The R&Rs are in the service manual and they exist for many reasons. "Doubles" can do meeting service and can co-sponsor in Alateen but GR,DR, and higher no. As a double I co-chair PI and do meeting service. I can no longer sole sponsor an Alateen meeting. The benefit? chances are that alcoholism won't take my heart beat as it came close to doing in the 70's. I recommend getting and reading a service manual to anyone who wants to insure their recovery never falls apart.
