I think for my fourth step I am working on this idea of allowing me to love me... Realizing that I am a wonderful and full of life person, which would be the eternal summer part :) Like learning to recognize the positive attributes of myself when I have spent my life in self-pity and feeling worthless is very hard, and I am working on that :) I find when I really take a look at me and really and truly accept me and accept other people's kind words about me, I begin to heal. I think that is what this eteral summer is... a love for myself that has been there all along, that I never had, but am learning to gain for me :) THanks

Gosh, everyone relates winter to such a negative season. :p I love winters. :)

I know that's not the point... I guess my ESH would be two parts. I love winter, so I see the positive in any season.

But I know the analogy the author is using is that I have the power to turn any situation I deem "bad" into something "good". It's all a matter of perception, and that choice is ultimately mine. There's a wellspring of joy in happiness inside of me if I but choose to use it.

Thanks - good reminder for me today, actually, because I've been feeling pretty crabby lately.

Aloha: I live in New England, where we get too much winter! LOL... but seriously, I really think that the winter is like the depression I was in for my whole life and the summer is the new me coming out :) Alive and ready.... Thanks :) And thanks Jerry :)
