I wanted to wish everyone Happy Holidays, whatever holiday it may be, for you and your families. I know how hard this season can be on everyone, expectations run high and so does stress and anxiety. I've found each year, a time of year I used to love has little be little become a drain on me and sometimes causes feelings of dread. I just tried to do the best I could for my daughter's sake and eliminated some other things (no more writing tons of Christmas cards, I get more generic gifts for others instead of trying to "get the perfect gift"....it's made it easier. I, as I'm sure some of you, look forward to the day when I can feel the joy of the holiday season again. Anyway, thanks all of you for your ESH, and love and support. I guess we can approach the holidays the same way we do Alanon....we can take what we like and leave the rest.
Your daughter is so fortunate to have you. In many of your posts, you mention her and her needs. It warms my heart to know that there are dads like you.

I wish you and the board decide to just play during these days, like a child and let the stuff we are powerless over go....HP has given us the gift of recovery/serenity and we should give that away to others we touch. Play...practice, practice, practice.
Thank you for kind greetings. Two weeks ago someone posted about having a Holiday Protection Plan. It was a brilliant idea. I have been trying to keep a balance between busy and prayer time. I'm so grateful for the concept of a loving Higher Power. I rest in the knowledge that the Love is abundant. Thank you again.
