Could anybody recommend me a suitable solicitor here in the UK?
Basically whilst Ive been looking after my former partner for the last 15 years I have been subjected to slander, hate mail, texts, poison letters, threatening phone calls etc by her family who are the people who abused her (sexual & violence). They have also reported her to the Police as missing and in danger from me. They have always seen me as a danger to them with regard to exposing them for what they are.
They are individually weak but collectively become bullies and are directed by my former partners father who inflicted most of the abuse on her.I have reported everything to the Police and they are now subject to a criminal investigation.
I wish to take action against them for all the crap I have been through both directly and indirectly.
Have already searched on the internet etc but struggling to find anybody that deals with this kind of stuff.
THANK YOU!

I don't know the law in the UK. Here this might be considered breaking a stalking law.
Also we have a thing called a restraining order to stop this behavior. If they break it they get taken to jail. I would guess after this happened they would stop this horrible behavior.
One could take copies and keep all this harrassment as evidense. Thats another charge, harrassment in the US.
I don't know how the law works there or what police are called. But I would go to your protection agency, maybe make an appointment first to speak to someone as to how to proceed.
I have heard your police dept or whatever it is called is one of the best in the world.
Myself I would get an R order asap as they are threatening you.
Go to your local CAB. I am sure they will be able to help advise you through their database and network, though it is unlikely that they will be able to take on the case they will have names of good solicitors who specialise.
I am suprised that the police have not already advised you and recommended a Restraining Order if they are in the process of undertaking a criminal investigation against those aggressors. I would consider that a priority as I am sure that it will get worse before it gets better once the aggressors get wind of what is underway.
A Restraining Order, in my opinion, is a definite.
*Oh, and one more thing - don't forget too that the police here in UK have a wonderful Victim Support Programme, use them, get them alongside to help you, you will both need the support.
Keep strong, I know what it is to be subjected to collective/individual bullying and agression from others. Take care.
Suzannah * ops, another after thought.

Strive for WISDOM; Seek SERENITY; NEVER compromise your INTEGRITY.
My experience of the Police is that they are so slow and then they are off for days on leave!
Many ex Army friends are in the Police moaning about being so overworked, I often say step into my shoes mates!! Just banter of course........................
The aggro has slowed down now that they are being investigated, all pathetic cowards.
I have looked into the victim support unit, very good as you say.......
