This is my annual reminder. October is breast cancer awareness month. Time to get those mammograms. MIP men don't shy away from this post.
Recovery is about living your life. It's about taking care of ourselves the emotional as well as the physical side. Time to get those mammograms! I have mine booked in two weeks. October is about taking care of me month. I get all my physicals. I feel better knowing that all of my parts are in working order (most of the time)! I have had a biopsy and everything was fine. There is a ton of support out there.
Don't be afraid if you haven't had one. Nothing to it. If you don't have the money for one there are plenty of options out there so you can get one. There is hospital funding, as well as private organizations that can help you. Remember those self exams too. For more information you can go to this site: www.thebreastcancersite.com If you click on the button you can also help donate free mammograms to those who can't afford it.
MIP men remember men can come down with breast cancer too. So if you feel something make sure you get it checked out. A male colleague found a lump had a mammogram and it turned out to be nothing at all. Please also remind the women in your life about it too. Life is too short not to enjoy.
Ladies you can make this an all girls day too. One year several of my girlfriends & I made a day out of it. In the morning we went & got our mammograms, then we went on for a day of shopping & treating ourselves. It was great fun.
Recovery is about taking back our lives. Let's not let anything stand in the way of that. Much love and blessings to you and your families.
Live strong, Karilynn & Pipers Kitty
