Update...the hard part is over...

Ok, has been a week since I talked with my parents about getting back together with my sober ABF. The reception was better that I could have imagined. No screaming, yelling and  crying. My mother is having a harder time with it, as she is super attached to my daughter, which I can totally understand. Of course my dad is attached too, but it's different with men. Dad was an alcoholic, way back when, side effect of PTSD from Vietnam. So he has a little bit more understanding is seems like. I am so excited to embark on this new journey of my BF's sobriety. I know it's not always gonna be easy or fun, but I'm ready for the challenge. I feel everyone deserves a second chance, I know if it were me I would want one. And as I have learned on here, there is ALWAYS hope.

Wishing you my best and hoping you take along the tools of this wonderful program.

To rely on and to be prepared to what you have learned and still continue to learn about yourself and this crazy disease.

Try to always be connected to a face to face meeting for any obstacles thay may come up.

Yes, Hope is eternal , but we also must face the reality of the disease, sometimes relapses are inevitable, not saying that it will happen, but can happen. Just stick with your program.

Wishing you all the best and keep coming back to our MIP.

Luv, Bettina

Yes, wishing you the best.  When alcoholics stop drinking there is still real life to be figured out, with both its troubles and joys.  So do keep on with your program and keep taking care of yourself.  You deserve every bit of serenity that's there waiting for you!
