Jerry you floor me, lol, I was an avid alcoholic pet collector, pet defect owner was me, my friend pointed this out not so long backlol, Why she said do you always go for the sickly ones, why not choose the happy healthy ones with smiley faces and waggly tails?
Well I always felt sorry for the sickly ones, and wanted to give them a chance, but isn't it natures way? I still love the sickly ones but I think I can measure my recovery by the fact I might leave those for someone else to sort out, progress not perfection eh!
P.s I have owned an epeleptic rabbit 18 years, a sycho gerbil, a deranged dog, two rabbits with cleft pallotts, yes two, One pet husband, you will be pleased to know, I am now pet less, sept one pet husband but I don't try and make him healthy, thats his job!
So today I am off to purchase my new uniform I am going to be a carer and try to channel my caring nature in a constructive way!
HA! Great change of perspective! I am sure the animals you helped were grateful in their way, but it sure is nice having a healthy animal to hang out with :)
You Are with your Pets as I am With My Friends... If you don't have something wrong then we truly have nothing in common :-/ lol
Al-Anon has taught me that I am worth the GoodOnes too... I still love those that Love me, but have learned to leave the "Un"Healthy ones to God... I'm Sure he has a Plan for them as well...
I too am sure your Pets were most Grateful for your love, I have (3) Crazy Spoiled Bostons, and 1 16 yr old cat... And they may not be "All there" but they are "All Mine" & give me unconditional love that at times... Is Hard to find
