On this day President Ronald Reagan declared it NATIONAL ICE CREAM DAY! Now I would have thought he would have found some way to declare it National Jelly Bean Day, as we all know about his love of jelly beans.
Now I think we should honor this man, plus help out all the dairy farmers by going out & having ice cream today! After all it is our patriotic duty.
For those of you who don't live in the great country of ours, we extend the holiday to all of you wherever you might be. If you are in Italy, have some gelatto. If you are in space there is freeze dried ice cream. Where ever you might be, please join me and raise a bowl, a mug, a cone, a spoon and celebrate this great occasion. Remember on these auspicious occasions, calories don't count! So go ahead & eat some ice cream!

Ugh I celebrated early ... caramel cashew gellato yesterday. But being from Wisconsin I better support the dairy industry with some of that mint choco chip that Rocky mentioned. Thank you for reminding me!
That's great to know that there is a national day for my favorite food! It was raining here most of the day so I didn't feel like walking into town. But I'm going to celebrate belatedly tomorrow with a double scoop.
For me there are only two kinds of ice cream "Blue Bell Homemade Vanilla" and the others. Um Um Good ! I let Ellie and Daisy lick the bowl.......and Pipers?
