You had written in a recent post to someone on this board to "step back a bit and put just enough distance between you & your alcoholic so that HP can take up that space . . ."
I hope this reasonated with whom you addressed it to, as well as others on this board. It surely did with me. I read this just hours before I spoke to him on the phone. He was telling me that he was at his lowest. I recalled what you had written and stepped back. There was a time not long ago that I would have went to the rescue once again.
Thank you for your wise words! Gail

Here In the uk we have jeremy Kyle, here on mip we have our very own Jezza F, don't tell him but he really is a very nice man who has a wicked way with words, he just has this magical way of teaching me, I admitt I DO have to think about it though first, he talks in anagrams, I think he makes it like that to make it fun to LEARN, so I get it, and I do! X
But seriously, I appreciate that you wrote it's best to step back to allow room for HP. It's still difficult for me to hear him express how down he feels and continue taking care of me. But I silently remind myself step back, step back. HP will take care of him.
