I posted a couple weeks ago that I'd had a seizure and my AH took me to the emergency room and I had some tests. Those tests were all normal, but they referred me to a neurologist. I went to see the neurologist yesterday and guess what? Epilepsy.
So I can't even say how completely grateful I am - the diagnosis was on my gratitude list last night, of all things. While I can't say that I'm overjoyed to get to write that I have epilepsy on every medical questionnaire I fill out from now on, I gotta say that I am really REALLY grateful that the seizures weren't a result of a brain tumor or something really bad. I'm going to have a sleep EEG in a couple weeks just to see if the docs can get any more info.
Amazing how perspective changes after some time in the program.
Mahalo Summer for the news...on what it is and that you are handling it so well. It really does help having a name for that which confuses and scares us. I'll be listening for your progress and I'll keep tapping my HP on the arm so that my HP will continue to listen also. LOL sounds like I have some leadership skills huh? Actually I get to do that only when I've been a good boy. (((hugs)))
Sometimes, as Jerry F said, it's just a relief to know what it is your up against. I'm not happy about your news, but, like you, glad it wasn't something much worse. And very glad at the way you are handling it! Thanks you for sharing; you're strength is very encouraging.

I am glad that they have found what it is. Now you know what needs to be done. Do not fear this, as hard as it may be. I know people who have the same condition as you. They have had it for years and lead full lives. They don't let anything stop them. You are a strong woman and we have your back. Sending nothing but postive loving thoughts and prayers your way.
