can you believe it?

TO ALL OF THOSE WHO SAID TAKE A BATH:I cant do that even! crazy!
I have 2 showers & only one bathtub & the bathtub is cracked & out of
commision. We just got the one shower fixed but not the bathtub!
As far as candles go: I will definitely use them if I have to just in a dark
room! My life is so crazy that I can't even relax in a tub, yet.

Help! I am not going to drown; especially not in a bathtub! I am going
to get over it soon! Do you believe me out there????????

I am still HALTing too but at least I am not lonely for sure; I have all of
you! Thanks.
Kathleen

Hi Hoot Nanny!

I hardly ever take a bath! And, no, people don't have to avoid me, I always shower. It makes washing your hair so much easier. And, at my great age (61, I'm not proud!), it's not so much getting into the bath - it's the getting out again!!

Light the candles and go in for some sensuous drying and rubbing in of lovely-smelling body lotion and relax .....

Happy showering!

Tish xxx

Okay you're doing the HALT...have you done the FEAR (False  Evidence  Appearing  Real) yet.  All that stuff running around in your head? ... F A L S E Evidence.  Let it
go and enjoy your warm shower with candle light. I don't know about the sensual
drying off and sweet smelling body oils and then relaxing...my body works different
than Tatty's...is different also.  Back to you...practice detachment.  (((hugs))) smile

Just take a look at what you so have. One thing that immediately comes to mind is help. Thirty years ago, it wasn't available to any of us. The A was institutionalized. The family was disgraced. We now are part of an epidemic. We can take solace in the fact that people care and want to listen and help. I'll take that over a bath any day. Think about how lucky we are.

If you get to Hungry Angry Lonely or Tired make it your first step in recovery to
Eat a good meal, Accept what's going on in your life, Go to a meeting or visit
your sponsor or another member and Rest well.  Recover.

((((hugs))))

HALT is the first thing i learned in alanon and practicing it saved my life literally and figuratively.
Hungry, angry, lonely & tired
I was all those things
Being an anorexic didn't help things much for me. I had my eating disorder under control most of my adult life after much therapy but when I hit bottom it came back strong as ever.
Thankfully my husband noticed quicker than I did and monitered my eating however that was after going days with no food then passing out in the kitchen while getting coffee and splitting my head open...but i digress
Once I was able to identify what I was feeling i could work on fixing it.
The only one I haven't gotten under control yet is the Lonely
I have isolated myself for so long it takes a while to get back into circulation but i am trying!
Blessings in recovery Hoot !
