hope

I was able to put my arms around a woman today in my f2f who was crying. I held her up. She was sad and scared and confused as her son is bipolar and a drug addict and she has turned him out.

I had never met her before today and it was her first meeting. What a gift this program has given me. I was able to give her a shoulder and tell her that as long as he is still here on this earth and so is she, there is hope.

Because that was what was  told to me when I was in a similar position and it helped. It helped to hear that there was always hope. For me, for my A, for us all.

I just keep coming back.

Free,

What a great story being there for others as others were there for you and giving back to others what the program has given you. Give it all away, that's what the programs all about.

Big HUGS,
RLC

Thats a very inspirational experience, thank you for sharing it. I cant think of anything more heartwrenching than to have a child that is addicted.

Thats your own blood and the closest people to your heart. Mothers have the natural instinct to want to protect their children. Im glad you were there to support her.

Luv, Bettina

I remember the sense of reief and true "gladness" or gratefulness when I first found alanon. I remember "I didn't cause it, I can't cure it and I can't control it"
I rememer bawling my "guts out" and two ladies in particular staying with me after the meeting. I remember several people saying "You ARE going to be okay" and the real relief and renewed strength this statement provided. Thank you for being there for htat person!! I'm sure you made a huge difference in a life, and I believe what you give you get. When you are most down sometime I trust someone will offer you just the right words or actions to comfort and encourage you!!!

Huggs, Glad

This program truly is a gift. It is true what they say... the more you give, the more you get.

Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass. It's about learning to dance int he rain.
