Hello everyone, and thank you for reading this post. Many thanks also to those of you who have responded with messages of support and/or donated to my cause!
My name is Jessica (aka nigel3), MIP alanon member since 2005. I am writing this post to tell you a bit of my story and ask for assistance. Just over 6 years ago I contracted Lyme disease. My journey through this disease has battered my body and mind as I have experienced loss of my job, eviction from my apartment, homelessness, more hospital visits than I can count, and loss of my ability to even care for myself in the most basic ways. I live in the state of Arizona which does not recognize Lyme disease as valid medical condition, therefore none of the treating physicians listed on my insurance plan are willing to treat me. I have sought alternatives which have offered some relief, but currently have no funds to pay and am deteriorating rapidly. I need your help to stay alive. During my many hours spent in bed I have done research on possible treatments for Lyme disease and have found a clinic in San Diego with an excellent success rate. I need your help to get there. The clinic has offered me a discount on treatments, but the price is still out of my financial range. My family and local friends have pulled away because they do not understand my condition. Relying on the kindness of strangers is my last hope.
