Hi everyone, I'm new to the board and I'm not sure how this works. I have been to face to face meetings before, but never online meetings or step work on a message board. Someone kindly referred me here and said that my father's brother would be Robert. lol So, would someone here mind pointing me to Robert or tell me how to get started in Alanon meetings and step work online. I need and want a sponsor too. I never really had one in my face to face meetings and i want and need some guidance this time because I feeel that I will make a lot more progress that way. I have the books Courage to change and paths to recovery. I'm not sure which books are being used here. Thanks, Reese
Reese, I hope you find who you are looking for on here :) and welcome to the MIP board.
As for meetings you can access them from the family group main page. There are meetings held in there twice a day everyday. They are run very similar to most f2f meetings that I have attended, well as close as they can be since it is online. The rest of the time the meeting room is open for chat and you will typically find someone in there.
We read the same books that you will find in your meetings. You will see that since the message board is not a meeting we talk about other books that are non-CAL, like the "Getting Them Sober".
The board is a place to come vent, share your blessings, reach out for help and just do some good 12th step work. We do have a seperate board for step discusion.

Welcome Home Reese...Don't know Robert and have never met but one member of MIP face to face and that was a pleasure and cost them a buncha US dollars. However it wasn't about me just for my pleasure.
Mandy has explained where the meeting room is...there is of course this board and you have a white board and PM tool to contact members individually.
