David wrote a great post on gratitude today. I just watched the Hallmark Hall of Fame movie "When Love Is Not Enough". So I've had a double dose of gratitude today. If there is anyone in the family that watched the movie and did not tear-up several times then they didn't watch the same movie I did. But I suspect very few can say they didn't shed a tear or two.
The movie made me feel so proud to be a part of this wonderful program.
I could go on and on-------- I could say so much more -----but that's enough said because it really says it all.
Thank you Lois, and most of all Lois thank you for Al-Anon,

You guys have said it all. The trip over old territory for me was smoother because of coming to understand in Al-Anon but still it had an old familiar affect. If there is one emotion a bystander gets from watching those affect by the disease of alcoholism its profound sadness if they are compassionate and hot anger if they are not. Both were on the screne.
I met Lois in early recovery and was told why the red high heeled shoe was a metaphor for "enough". I didn't use a shoe. The reading of the steps also held my spouse and I in total suspension and in the end we spoke in the language of gratitude. HP is cunning, powerful and baffling.
If I had bought the tee shirt it would be wringing wet right now.
I didn't watch it all last night. I got a phone call in the middle of it and took it, but I recorded it and I am looking forward to finishing it tonight.
Before the movie started I was so excited and I felt overcome with gratitude to Lois and the other women who helped start this program, my alanon family and my sponsor.
Yours in recovery, Mandy
