has agreed and will work in cooperation with Al-Anon WSO (World Service Office) to
include mention and some description of the Al-Anon Family Groups into their
programing on the 29th.  They will also run a Al-Anon PSA during the break.  How
awesome is that....know anyone in program in your local station affiliate and give
them a thanks and hug for the effort.  Keep your anonymity as best you can if you

I wonder how they are going to incorporate this into their storyline? I watch GH and they don't currently have an addiction storyline going on. They have one character who was a pill addict a few years ago and he doesn't drink because he's a recovering addict, so maybe his family will attend a meeting?

Saw it today it was done wonderfully! I have noticed All My Children Does stuff like this too for important issues.

GH spokesperson mentioned to contact www. alanonalateen.com. I think that was it.

It was at the end of the episode--a teenage character was stopped for a DUI during today's episode. It was handled beautifully and I have to admit that I got choked up a bit. smile.gif

Thanks so much for the info. I never watch soaps..But, I watched this one and at the end, the young man who had been stopped for a DUI made a short statement at the very end. It was so wonderful to hear him (out of charater) say.."if you have a frend or family member with a drinking problem, there is hope" please contact, Alanon/Alateen.org for more info. It did put a big smile on my face, thanks again.
