October 4, 2009, MIP Al-Anon Group Meeting Minutes
Meeting was opened with The Serenity Prayer by the chair at 9 PM (EST.)
Motion was held, accepted and passed unanimously by all present for September 13ths Meeting Minutes as presented on the message board.
Chair noted there are many openings in the Meeting Schedule - If you wish to give service, have been in Al-Anon for 6 months (attending meetings) and would like to start chairing meetings please see anyone who has a @ next to their names.

New Business:
1. The Six month Service Position for Chairperson and Secretary
The chair mentioned it was not necessary to be an op to give service, to be a service worker.
The duties of the chair are to assemble an agenda and post it on message board, to gather information and run the meeting in the chat room once a month.
The secretary writes up minutes from the meeting and posts them on message board.
Motion was held, accepted and passed unanimously by all present for Courage to be Chairperson for the next 6 month rotation.
Vote was held and tea2 was accepted for Secretary position.
2. Op Manual.
This was held over from last month conversation of Ops chairing meetings; idle times and required further clarification; review of Op Manual and duties.
We addressed the Op coverage/ chairing meetings
After much discussion there was a motion that was accepted unanimously for
deleting the sentence in the Op Manual that read:
*Be a Chair or be an Alternate Chair for at least 1 meeting a week.
The idle times was said to be tabled for November.
The meeting was closed with the Al-Anon Declaration.
Next Meeting will be Sunday, November 1st, 9 PM EST
